Fulham have offered Chester FC midfielder Joe Ormrod a trial with a view to signing the former Portsmouth player permanently.
The seventeen year old came through the Chester youth ranks after spells at Portsmouth and Tranmere and is now an established first team player. Fulham scouts have been impressed with his performances and, with the club's blessing, have offered Ormrod a week at Craven Cottage.
A Chester FC statement read: "Joe Ormrod has been watched on several occasions playing for the Chester FC Youth side by Fulham scouts. We were approached by Fulham to see if it would be possible for them to take a look at Joe.
"This was discussed by the Club and Joe and his family, and the lad was given the final choice.
"Joe goes with the full blessing of all in the youth and senior set ups at CFC, and we look forward to seeing him back next week. As a part time non-league club it would be wrong of us to deny a young lad what could be a brilliant opportunity, and we know the people at Fulham will take great care of him."
