Italian giants Roma are the latest side to have supposedly expressed an interest in Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey.
According to The Sun, Roma were interested in the American international over last summer but a move never materialised. This time, however, the Romans are prepared to test Fulham's resolve and are willing to fight head-to-head with Arsenal for Dempsey's signature.
Many clubs have been linked with the Texan-born player, but the most prominent destination so far has proved to be Arsenal, with scouts at the North London club giving their manager Arsene Wenger rave reviews . Roma, though, are looking to take the initiative and will make an offer of around £7 million, something chairman Mohammed Al Fayed will have to ponder, with Dempsey's deal set to run out in 14 months time.
