Liverpool's Adam: I've heard nothing from Fulham

Liverpool's Charlie Adam has admitted having words with his new manager, Brendan Rodgers, about his first team prospects over the coming season, but has fallen short of suggesting he wants out of Anfield, stating that the link between himself and Fulham is just paper talk.

With the ongoing saga of Clint Dempsey still causing a stir, it was thought that the Scottish international, who has been at Liverpool for only a year, could be used as a make-weight in any deal between Rodgers and Jol. Adam had a disappointing debut campaign with his new club which has helped fuel rumours that he wants out.

The 26 year-old himself, however, is keen to impress his new manager at Liverpool, rather than walking out on a challenge.

"I am happy at Liverpool," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"Why would I leave after a year? There is no point. I am open enough to say I have had a conversation with the manager but for me I'm not going anywhere.

"I am playing with some of the best players in the world, I have a good coach, a good manager, and I am learning every day from what he is doing. I want to play this year and hopefully I get the opportunity to do that.

Even though Adam was an unused substitute in Liverpool's dire 3-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, he was very quick to dismiss a potential move to Fulham.

"I have never heard anything about Fulham. Nobody has spoken to me about it, so for the moment it is paper talk and at the moment I am not going anywhere."
