Fulham played Wolves today at home.  I guess you could say the entire game was difficult for either team to take control of the match. Wolverhampton did a great job on Bobby Zamora. They limited balls coming into him. Zamora did have the best chance to score in the second half. His strike hits the post in the second half. Neither team were able to really put on sustained pressure throughout the match. Both teams probably only deserved a point. The game ended  0 - 0 at Craven Cottage.

This was a frustrating first half for Fulham. The half began very strong for club. Fulham were controlling the play for about the beginning 5 minutes. However, shortly afterwards Wolverhampton started to gain more control of the game. It was back and forth pretty much. The Wolves defense did an excellent job on Bobby Zamora. Berra and Craddock for Wolves were all over Zamora. Fulham were not able to get the ball often to Bobby. As stated the half was frustrating for Fulham.

In the 22nd minute,  Zoltan Gera's shot in the box is blocked by Berra. This was a very good chance for Fulham. In the 32nd minute,  Damien Duff in a similar situation has his shot blocked by the Wolverhampton defense. For me the Wolverhampton defense were excellent.

Wolverhampton's best chances came in the the last 10 minutes of the half.  Kevin Doyle's shot on the left inside of the box  just goes wide. Shortly afterwards,  a Doyle header off of a corner kick just goes wide of the net.

A little scare in the first half was when Aaron Hughes went down . He has been excellent and this would be a huge loss for Fulham. Fortunately for Fulham he did get up and seemed to shake off the issue he was having with his leg.

The half was pretty even, but incredibly frustrating to watch. The half ended 0 - 0

The second half began with more pace from both teams. Wolves had the first chance in the second half. A Jarvis shot in the box is nicely blocked by Aaron Hughes. He seemed to be back to normal in the second half.

Fulham then had a few chances to score. In the 51st minute, a Damien Duff shot inside the box just goes wide of the net. Shortly afterwards,  Danny Murphy has a shot blocked inside the box. Murphy would have another chance in the 61st minute. His shot just outside the box goes high over the net.

Wolverhampton did have another good chance to score in the half. Midway in the second half, an Edwards shot deep inside the box goes just wide of the net. Wolverhampton did put pressure on Fulham in the second half. They just could not really penetrate the Fulham defense.

The best chance for Fulham to score in second half came in the 65th minute. Bobby Zamora was kept in control by the Wolverhampton defense most of the game. He did have one great chance to score. He was fed a nice pass by Dickson Etuhu. Zamora then had a great strike that hit the post.

Fulham would have a few more chances late in the game to score. In the 78th minute, Danny Murphy had another shot that sailed over the net.  He was just inside the box. In the 86th minute, Zoltan Gera had a header that just went over the net. Damien Duff sent Gera a great cross. Zoltan just couldn't get his header in the net. Bobby Zamora would have one last chance to score. In the 89th minute, Fulham had a free kick in a dangerous area outside the box. Bobby Zamora took the free kick that sailed high over the net. The game ended a few minutes later with a score of 0 - 0.

This was a difficult game to watch. It seemed like Fulham were a little off the entire game. They did have their chances, but just could not convert. Honestly, both sides deserved just a point. This was a game about the defense of both sides. Both teams defenses were terrific.

Now, it is on to Hamburg this Thursday for Fulham. Let's hope Fulham can score at least a goal in Germany. The last two matches they have been shut out.
