I have been following the Mark Schwarzer story for awhile. There have been rumors that Arsenal were very interested in Fulham Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. I guess you can say their interest has been confirmed. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal made an approach to Fulham and had their ofer rejected. The article states that the bid was for £3million.
According to this Daily Mail story Schwarzer is interested in going to Arsenal. It also mentions even though the deal was rejected they have not given up interest. The Daily Mail also has a quote from Arsenal Chairman Peter Wood regarding the inquiry to Fulham.
Chairman Peter Hill-Wood said: 'We have made an enquiry for him and they are not prepared to sell him so we have gone away. We can only hope they will change their minds, but at the moment it doesn't look like it.'
Personally, I am glad to see Fulham not accept the bid from Arsenal offer for Mark Schwarzer. The Australian Goalkeeper has been fantastic at Craven Cottage. However, this might not be the end to this story. I will be monitoring the Mark Schwarzer story and will provide an update if more information becomes available.
