I Sometimes come across gossip stories that could have interest to Fulham fans. I just saw this interesting EPL rumor that I wanted to share. According to Harry Harris of ESPN Soccernet, Chelsea have made a £50 million offer to Liverpool for Fernando Torres. The article also mentions that their is a bid as well from Manchester City on Torres. Torres is currently playing for Spain in the World Cup.
ESPN Soccernet has quotes from and insider who discusses the Chelsea and Manchester City offers for Liverpool's Torres.
An insider close to the negotiations told Soccernet: "There have been two verbal offers for Torres, Chelsea are willing to pay £50 million, but Manchester City offered verbally £25 million more!
Liverpool would naturally want the bigger sum, but Torres as made it perfectly clear that he won't be joining Manchester City, even though City would go as high as £200,000-a-week wages.
Right now Liverpool are in the middle of a few stories. First, their open managerial position has speculation that Liverpool might be interested in Roy Hodgson. Second, this ESPN Soccernet article also talks about that Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun could also have interest from Chelsea. Third, you have this Fernando Torres rumor about possible bids from other EPL clubs. I will be following these stories and have an update when new information becomes available.
