Switzerland upset Spain in the World Cup 1 - 0. However, it might have been a costly victory for the Swiss. According to Skysports.com, new Fulham signing Philippe Senderos came off during the game with a potential injury.  The article states the centre back picked up an ankle injury running into a team-mate. The story goes on to say he is on his way to the hospital to have his ankle scanned.

The article discusses that Switzerland are hoping he is not out for the rest of the World Cup. The Skysports article has quotes from the Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld. The quotes are below.

Senderos has a sprained ankle and he may have a ruptured a ligament or worse," said Hitzfeld.

"He has to go to hospital to have some tests.

"It will be very difficult to replace him and it will be a major blow for my team if we were to lose him."

For fans of Fulham let's hope Senderos is not badly injured. I will have an update on Senderos's progress when I have more information.
