Last night I had speculation regarding Manel Pellegrini and possibly signing on to be the new Liverpool manager. Today their is a story from the Daily Mirror that has a quote from the lawyer of Manuel Pellegrini. The Daily Mirror article states that the lawyer for Pellegrini discusses that his client has been contacted by a Premier League club, but would not identify that team. The Daily Mirror story also is stating that it is still believed that Roy Hodgson is still the leading candidate for the Liverpool position.
Below is the quote from the lawyer of Manuel Pellegrini. The quote from the Daily Mirror does not mention Liverpool. The lawyer is discussing contact from a team in England for his client.
He said: "I cannot confirm or deny anything. All I can say is that there is an offer from England."
Yesterday I reported speculation regarding Liverpool and Manuel Pellegrini. Richard Buxton of Click Liverpool actually had a twitter message about Manuel Pellegrini and Liverpool. Buxton stated in his tweet that there is a report from Chile that Pellegrini has signed with Liverpool this morning. Then, Richard Buxton of Click Liverpool followed up his tweet with an article entitled " Manuel Pellegrini set to be unveiled as next Liverpool FC manager - Report".
I also had a report from Prensafutbol. According to this article, Pellegrini signed to become Liverpool manager yesterday morning.
Again as I stated from last night's article there is no official word from Liverpool. All of these stories are speculation regarding the Liverpool managerial position at this point. We are just going to have to wait and see how this story turns out. I will continue to follow all the twists and turns in this story. When more information becomes available I will have another update.
