The Daily Mail has a story that Fulham could be close to an £8million deal for Standard Liege striker Dieumerci Mbokani. The article also mentions that West Ham and Everton have shown interest in the player. He is a 6 foot 1 inch tall and a Congo International.
According to the Daily Mail, Fulham have already held discussions with Standard Liege management regarding Mbokani on Tuesday. The story mentions that the player let Standard Liege know he has a desire to play in the English Premier League or in the Bundesliga.
Mbokani has some very good goal scoring numbers. Since 2007, he has scored 34 goals in 79 appearances. In international duty since 2006 he has scored 8 goals in 14 appearances. I think I can see why Fulham, Everton and West Ham have shown interest.
I find this rumor encouraging for the Cottagers. Even with all the talk going around regardigng the future of Roy Hodgson, it looks like Fulham are trying to upgrade the club. I will be following this story and have an update when information is available.
