Cottagers Daily Rumor Mill: Could Fulham Have Beaten Birmingham To Potentially Sign AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele?

I just saw this speculation with a link to Fulham. According to the Daily Mail, Fulham are going to make a £5 million offer for AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele. The story states that Mark Hughes has talked the Belgian striker into going with Fulham ahead of Birmingham.

The Daily Mail story also mentions that Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has stated that the striker had rejected a move to his club. The story goes on to discuss that Fulham are thought to be having more discussions with Dembele over the next 24 hours.

Moussa Dembele is a 23 year old striker from Belgium. His current club is AZ Alkmaar. He has been with them since 2006. Young strikers are hard to find so I can see why Birmingham along with Fulham would have interest. I will have updates on this speculation regarding Fulham when more information is available.
