Fulham vs. Port Vale in Carling Carling Cup At Craven Cottage

Fulham play Port Vale today in the Carling Cup at Craven Cottage. The match takes place at 8PM UK Time and 3PM EST. There is no televised broadcast of this game. Port Vale are a league two team and so far this season unbeaten. They are currently fourth in their league.

There is a possibility that Fulham could be resting some starters and giving some other players a chance to play. Also, newcomers Rafik Halliche and Moussa Dembele could be playing in this match - up. Finally, Mark Schwarzer has been dealing with a back injury, and it is unclear if he will be available for this game.

Port Vale does have a very good connection to Fulham. Their manager is Micky Adams who played for the Cottagers from 1994 - 1997. He also was a player-manager from 1996 - 1997. I am sure there will be fans that will be happy to see him back at Craven Cottage.

Adams in the 1996 - 1997 season helped Fulham get promoted up to Division Two. This was a big step in the process up the ladder of divisions which would eventually lead to the Premier League.

This should be an interesting matchup for Fulham which I will be following today. Let's hope the Cottagers take care of business and move on in the Carling Cup.
