Martin Jol has wasted no time in setting his targets high in January, according to Corriere Dello Sport who suggest Fulham have made a firm, and so far unrivalled offer for forward Maxi Lopez.
The Argentinian is looking to leave Italian side Catania and looked destined to head for Serie A giants AC Milan. However, Milan have reportedly pulled out of the deal, leaving the door open for Jol. A price tag has yet to be put forward but the Cottagers will face competition from Fiorentina who are considering a bid for the former Barcelona player.
Meanwhile, Bolton manager Owen Coyle has stated that no bid has been placed for England international Bobby Zamora.
"Bobby Zamora is an outstanding footballer but I certainly have not had any dialogue with Martin Jol or any people at Fulham," said Coyle.
However, the Scot didn't hold back on praising the forward:
"You only had to look yesterday to see the qualities that Bobby Zamora has but there has been no interest from Bolton Wanderers."
