Fulham sign Manolev

The official site has now confirmed that Stanislav Manolev has joined Fulham for the remainder of the season, with an option to extend the player's deal for a further two years.

Martin Jol yesterday confirmed he was in the market for a right back having lost Steven Kelly to Reading and has now seemingly got his man.

The 29 year-old joins from PSV Eindhoven and is expected to provide backup to current full back incumbent Sascha Riether.

A talented defender, Manolev hasn't had the rub of the green and has often been criticised in Holland for lacking concentration and basic awareness.

If Jol can get the best out of him, however, he could well push Riether - who has been in fine form this season - for his starting spot.

A Bulgarian international with 29 caps, Manolev can offer Fulham a more offensive option as opposed to Riether's more resolute approach to the game.
