Fulham's season - The things that matter

We've all had our say on player of the season, goal of the season and the like. But what about the awards that are really, really important?

Clive Rose

So, Dimitar Berbatov is the contentious Fans' Player of the Year, Sascha Riether the less contentious Players' player. Martin Jol will get best Fulham manager this season, holding off a host of others. But what of the awards that matter?

Here, at Cottagers Confidential, we know what's important, so here are the real winners from this 2012/13 season.

Best attire: This, inevitably, goes to Dimitar Berbatov. His 'keep calm and pass me the ball' t-shirt was a stroke of comical genius. Hardly something you'd expect from a man who emanates grumpiness.

Best tackle: Steve Sidwell. Our Ginger Iniesta doesn't like referees. They give him lots of red cards. So Sidwell takes things into his own hands.

Best video: It's a close call between our Harlem Shake and the highlights of our 0-0 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road. Only kidding.

Best electrical failure: Well, there was only really one.

Best sense of humour: This is how Berba responds to jokes.

Best secret agent: This one is a genuinely close call. Mark Hughes did a wonderful job over at QPR, after we sent him on a mission over there. Marcello Trotta probably pips him to the post, however, for sheer drama. He missed a penalty while on loan for local rivals Brentford, condemning them to the play-offs, as opposed to automatic promotion to the Championship. Where they lost.

Best Fulham chant: 'We get to go home, we get to go home! You have to live here, we get to go home!' Sang at Blackpool in our FA Cup tie in January.

Most forgettable result: Is it just me that doesn't remember drawing 1-1 at home to Wigan Athletic?

Best interview: Macauley stumps an itchy-bearded Damien Duff, asking him if he ever smiles.
