More Rumors and Some Owls That Look Like Uncle Roy

It's another beautiful summer morning here in Seattle, not as much Fulham news as yesterday, but hopefully enough to keep you satiated.

Angel Martinez

The move for all the QPR players continues. As rumored yesterday, Fulham really seem interested in Esteban Granero. The article also states that QPR is trying to offload Stephane Mbia as well. Of the two, Granero is the most interesting to me. He plays a deeper CM position, but can be creative from that area. Squawka recently published a piece that has made me warm up to the idea considerably. At a £5M valuation, he probably is too expensive to buy outright though; and I'm not sure I want another loan with no option to buy.

This piece from Italy also make it sound like Gargano is still a viable target for the club. As an older player, he's one I'd actually be happier to have on loan than to buy outright. I'd prefer transfer targets young enough to have some sell on value.

With all the rumored midfielders coming in, Fulham is going from being thin to having a possible log jam very quickly; so it only makes sense to send out some players on loan. I'm ok with both of these players leaving on loan. If possible, I'd like them both to go to a Championship club. But the most important thing is to get playing time. Patjim Kasami has looked good in preseason, and it would be a shame to have him sit on the bench all year. I still have hope for Matthew Briggs as well, but between Kieran Richardson and John Arne Riise, you can't expect him to get much first team football. Hopefully a whole season of first team experience allows them to come back next year when some of the older players are moved out (Damien Duff and Riise both are out of contract this summer, plus it looks like we will have loanees leaving). **Update** It now looks like Riise could be on the way out. If that's the case, a loan for Briggs looks much less likely unless another LB is brought in.

I spent entirely too much time laughing at Bald Eagles that look like Arsene Wenger last year. This isn't quite as funny (mainly because there are fewer and it's on Buzzfeed), but it does at least relate to Fulham. So I present to you Owls that look like Roy Hodgson. If pictures of owls don't do it for you, the NYC Fulham Supporters (follow them @NYCFulham) photoshoped the NBC Times Square billboard. I have to say it made me smile.
