It's been a big year for a lot of Fulhams squad with many players being thrust in to the first team with little or no experience of first team football. It's always a telling time when a player makes that step up, some rise to the challenge and continue to develop into household names where as so many stumble at that final hurdle.
Marcus Bettinelli has grown in confidence making himself at home in goal and has deservedly earned himself a call up to the England U21's for matches against Portugal and France. It would be a big day for him to get some time on the pitch and can only help his development from a Fulham perspective. Cauley Woodrow has also done enough to keep his spot despite not getting much game time in recent weeks, hopefully he can regain some form whilst on international duty.
Elsewhere George Williams will expect to start following his excellent performance in his previous outing for Wales. His recent run in the Fulham team has seen some strong performances and at only 19 is showing he has an old head on those shoulders. Our congratulations obviously go out to all involved and they are well deserved call ups.
Who else do we think we will see in international colours, either at U21 or senior level? Emerson Hyndman has already made his debut for the USMNT and could play at his home ground when Craven Cottage hosts USA vs Colombia. After his recent performances for the whites it's surely only a matter of time before Lasse Vigen Christensen earns a senior call up.
Let us know in the comments who you think deserves to pull on their countries shirt from our young squad.
