Kit Symons: Fulham must do better

In his pre-game press conference Kit Symons talks about the Watford result and says the team must do better if they are to continue climbing up the table.

Kit began by trying to put the Watford result behind the club:

For us, he Watford game was not good enough by a long way, and we’re going to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

We’ve suffered defeats before and gone on to get a good result in the next game. We’ve got to maintain that on Saturday.

He also confirmed Gabor Kirlay will be starting in goal after the suspension of Marcus Bettinelli:

Gabor will come in. Obviously he’s a Hungary international, very experienced, so he’s the natural one to come in.

He's trying to sound confident, but Kirlay was brought in by Magath. And it appears that Kit would have much rather had another goal keeper come in. The club tried to bring Jamie Ashdown on loan, but were stopped by league rules. That's hardly a vote of confidence for Mr. Kirlay. Symons went on to talk about the injury status of several players. Tim Hoogland and Fernando Amorebieta really haven't changed since we last discussed it. Hoogland could be back for next week, but Amorebieta is still multiple weeks away. The good news is that Sean Kavanagh is in full training and is going to go out with the Under 21's. The club was super thin at left back and having him back will help. Adam Taggart was also mentioned as he played 20 minutes with the Under 21's. I was fairly high on his signing and would like to see what he can do. I doubt we see him this week, but hopefully a cameo next week?
