First, George Williams is being called into Wales' Euro qualifier against Andorra. Wales might not be a powerhouse. But it's still impressive to get called up to the team. Especially when you are only eighteen and have only one senior team appearance to your name. This will be the second call up for Williams who previously made an appearance against Holland in a friendly. This however is a competitive match for Wales and seeing him get the call for this is very satisfying.
We all know how good Patrick Roberts might be. He's the jewel of the academy. He's made his first team debut at only 17. He's already been a big part of the U-17 England squad that won the European Championship. Now he's set to make his U-19 debut as he's been called in for England's friendly against Germany in Oberhausen. It's great to see Roberts continue to progress. Hopefully he doesn't succumb to the pressure that so many other English starlets do. Conversely I don't want his value to become so high that Fulham simply can't afford not to sell him.
Fulham still have quite a few other players who might be getting international calls coming up. It wouldn't surprise me if Emerson Hyndman gets a call to the US Friendly against Ireland in November. Ross McCormack will probably make another appearance for Scotland soon. Moussa Dembele is still a part of the France youth setup. I'm not a huge fan of international breaks and the miles they put on player's legs. But I am excited that the boys are getting recognition.
