Reports Monday are that Fulham have agreed upon a swap loan deal that will send Fernando Amorebieta to Middlesbrough with the Whites receiving full back James Husband in return. Both deals are through the end of the season.
Amorebieta, who has only appeared in 8 matches so far this season mostly due to injury, has struggled to regain his spot in the side since his recovery. This was also compounded with a red card he received last week in the thrashing Fulham received at home to Bournemouth.
Husband, a 21-year-old English left back who joined Boro in the summer from Doncaster, found himself in a similar situation, appearing only 6 times thus far for his parent club. He has only seen the field twice for the first team since the beginning of November.
It's an interesting addition as Fulham seem to have a variety of full backs to choose from, including the likes of Jazz Richards, Jack Grimmer, Kostas Stafylidis, as well as Tim Hoogland and Sean Kavanaugh who have seen themselves played in midfield as of late. It does raise questions about the future of Kostas Stafylidis, who has been the first choice left back all season. The young Greek loanee may be in Kit Symons' dog house after his quick sending off last week versus Leeds. I wouldn't bet that his time playing for Fulham is over, but given Kit's mention of disciplinary action due to the situation, I wouldn't be surprised either.
