Fulham extend Cauley Woodrow through 2018

Just yesterday we discussed how Fulham need to lock up their youth players with long term contracts. Today, the first of those happened.

The club announced today that Cauley Woodrow has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until at least 2018 with a further option through the 2019 season. Woodrow made 34 appearances for Fulham last season and netted five goals. He has also been capped nine times as an England youth international and has scored three goals.

Cauley seemed pretty excited and had this to say on twitter:

This is a good beginning to the off season. Fulham's academy has produced a lot of players with potential, but if they aren't locked up, they won't do much to help the fortunes of the club. I'm hoping we see similar extensions for Lasse Vigen Christensen, Emerson Hyndman, Moussa Dembele, and Dan Burn soon.
