The performance was better than the result. Let’s see if your ratings reflect that.
Starters
David Button - Community 6.42, WhoScored 5.56
I have to say I agree more with WhoScored versus the community. I thought Button could have done better and his passing was simply not very good at all
Denis Odoi - Community 5.75, WhoScored 5.97
He was probably most at fault for the go ahead goal. He also picked up a dumb yellow that suspended him for the next match. Other than that, he wasn’t bad at all. If Brighton don’t score there, and he’s a little smarter with his fouling, he’d be near a seven for me.
Tomas Kalas - Community 7.00, WhoScored 8.09 (MOTM)
Great to see him bounce back from his last bad performance. I’m not sure I’ve wanted a loan player to stick around more than him since I’ve been following Fulham. He had 21 defensive actions, won four aerial duels, had great passing numbers, drew four fouls, and even threw in a shot and beating someone on the dribble. He’s the perfect center back for Slavisa’s system and I really hope we can keep him.
Ragnar Sigurdsson - Community 6.25, WhoScored 6.30
He was fine. That’s about all you can say. He didn’t really do anything to stand out, but he didn’t make any mistakes either.
Scott Malone - Community 6.25, WhoScored 6.25
I believe this is the first time ever the community and WhoScored have matched each other exactly. As usual, Malone played solid if unspectacular defense. He didn’t contribute as much in the attack as we’ve come to expect; but he didn’t really do anything wrong either.
Stefan Johansen - Community 6.92, WhoScored 6.83
Johansen continues to be a very key cog in the Fulham attack. All the other midfielders are completing nearly 90% of their passes, but he’s in the upper 70’s. This tells me he’s trying things. He led the team in key passes and had an assist. If I had a fault with him, I wish he’d shoot more. This was a pretty solid game though.
Kevin McDonald - Community 7.08, WhoScored 7.79
He gets a big boost for scoring the goal, but he was pretty good even without that. He continues to use good positioning to provide excellent defensive cover. He can make a good pass when needed and knows when to push up and join the attack. He’s been one of the most important players on the club this year.
Tom Cairney - Community 6.92, WhoScored 6.62
I wasn’t as impressed with Cairney as I often am. He wasn’t bad here, but didn’t really do enough. He’s one of the creative hubs that can unlock a defense, and he simply didn’t do that. He also didn’t contribute as much on defense as he often does. However if games like this are his worst games, you’ll be happy.
Sone Aluko - Community 6.83, WhoScored 6.52
Aluko still has problems finishing. Of course with his pace and athletic ability he probably wouldn’t be a Fulham player if he was better at it.
Floyd Ayite - Community 7.08 (MOTM), WhoScored 6.65
He was Fulham’s most goal dangerous player even though he didn’t score. His passing was tidy. If there’s a flaw, it might be that he’s a bit too ambitious with the ball.
Chris Martin - Community 6.33, WhoScored 6.17
Martin struggled to find open space to shoot. He did well holding up the ball and creating for others, but you really need to reward a striker for hard work. I can’t complain much about how he played, but the team needs to be better about leaving him on an island.
Substitutes
Neeskans Kebano - Community 5.75, WhoScored 6.00
Ryan Fredericks - Community 6.13, WhoScored 5.97
Lucas Piazon - Community 5.88, WhoScored 6.02
The rare triple sub. None of them really had much time to evaluate.
