Burn & Hutch find new clubs but Jokanovic is off to Copenhagen

Fernando Amorebieta was linked with a move back to Spain last week, but he isn’t one of the two defenders to find new clubs in the last few days.

Released duo, Dan Burn & Shaun Hutchinson have this week, signed contracts with Wigan Athletic & Milwall. Personally, I feel that Dan’s made the right choice for himself in signing for Wigan – he’ll get the playing time he so desperately needs to continue his development and he’ll be learning from Caldwell who, in his playing days was a no nonsense defender – something that we actually lack at Fulham.

Dan Burn joins Wigan

As for Hutch, joining Milwall will be a decent platform for him to excel. He can drop down a league and really learn the game. Under Neil Harris, who has wanted the defender for a long time, Shaun has a manager that believes in him – something he didn’t have during the two seasons he was with Fulham.

It’ll be interesting to see how both defenders perform away from Craven Cottage next season, but I wish them all the best; two genuinely nice blokes with the right attitude to succeed in the modern game.

As every day during transfer season, our best players will continue to drum up interest from several clubs – which is definitely the case for our prolific striking duo, Ross McCormack & Moussa Dembele.

Recent reports suggest that Celtic are the latest club to be interested in the Frenchman. While, it may seem a sideways step considering the likes of Spurs and Arsenal were keen – a move to Celtic wouldn’t be the worse move for him. Similar to the potential Galatasary switch, Dembele would have the platform to play in Europe – a chance to play at Champions League level and if that wasn’t successful, Celtic could find themselves in the Europa League; both are higher standards that Fulham can offer right now. Not only that, but Dembele is a close friend of our former starlet, Patrick Roberts who is expected to play at Celtic again next season. A chance to reunite with his close friend, could be a selling point for the striker. Although, some reports suggest that Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to keep the forward at the club, and a new contract has been offered to Moussa – whether or not he signs it is a completely different situation.

As for our talisman, Ross McCormack the list of clubs who are keen on his services continues to grow. Hull City are the latest club to be linked with the forward this week, with reports saying they would match the £15mvaluation on the Scotsman. Personally, I can’t see this deal happening, with Hull being linked with other targets, and a deal for McCormack would eat up a sizeable part of their summer budget and they will be forced to look elsewhere. While reports continue to surface about Aston Villa and Newcastle’s interest in their current situation a £15m outlay on one player seems crazy right now, with both clubs focusing on revamping their side in a variety of positions.

Then again, Fulham have been linked with another striker this week – Czech forward, Tomas Necid. Interestingly, just like Serdar Aziz who we have been linked with, Necid also plays for Bursaspor – so maybe Fulham officials have been discussing some business with the Turkish side. Necid would be an interesting purchase if he did join the club this summer, a proven goalscorer who is arguably entering his prime years as a footballer. Whether or not, Necid would demand a large fee is unknown but it’s good to see that Fulham continue to be linked with high standard of player this summer.

In other news, Bursaspor defender, Serdar Aziz has completed his move to Galatasary – a defender that was the subject of a 4m euro bid from Fulham has decided to join Galatasary instead. Fulham had been linked with a move for Grant Hanley but the Blackburn defender is reportedly valued at £5m, much higher than the proposed £1.5m-£2m fee that Fulham had submitted.

For those of you who aren’t on Twitter, our Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic did make an interesting post the other day.

@Jokanovic: ‘Off on a work trip. #FFC’ (This post included a plane ticket from Madrid to Copenhagen). Click to view Joka's Post

While Fulham have remained quiet so far in the market, it does look like our manager will be personally meeting and discussing deals with our targets this summer. If Jokanovic can share his vision with any new arrivals, the future can only get brighter for Fulham Football Club.
