A Cottagers Contemplation - Scouting the Free Agent Market

Sometimes you can add good players without paying a fee. Could any of these players help the club?

Being a Fulham fan during the transfer window can be a frustrating task. The club's discretion over transfers and their contractual fees. I have scouted the markets Free Agents that could do a job for Fulham and may fancy a challenge in the Championship over the possibility of an uncertain future. These five players wouldn't cost the club a penny.

Miguel Veloso

Defensive Midfielder

30 years old

20 appearances | 2 goals | 0 assist

After his 4 year stay at Dynamo Kiev ended this summer, The Midfielder would be available on a free.

With an ageing Scott Parker and no sign in a return of Rohan Ince, A Defensive Midfielder is a much needed requirement.

Veloso has made 56 appearances so far in his international career with Portugal.

Would a player of Veloso quality be tempted in a move to London?

Gaston Ramirez

Central Attacking Midfielder

18 appearances | 7 goals | 1 assist

Ramirez possess much needed Championship experience making 18 appearances netting 7 time and making 1 assist.

With an array of passing styles, The creative midfielder would aid in attack.

With the Uruguayan starring in the championship last season, I could see him returning to a top Championship side or possible a bottom half Premier League side.

Junior Hoilett

26 years old

Left Winger

29 appearances | 6 goals | 2 assists

It's hard to believe that the Canadian Winger is still only 26 years old.

The tricky Winger likes to dribble at defences and attack teams head on. Using his pace down the flanks.

Already living in West London during his time at QPR, This deal would be ideal for both parties.

A pacey, left sided Midfielder on a free transfer. Would this be a transfer that would suit Fulham?

Christopher Samba

32 year old

Centre Back

4 appearances | 0 goals | 0 assists

His tenure in Russia has come to an end after the expiration of his contract at Dynamo Moscow.

The Congolese Centre Back joined Anzhi Makhachkala from Blackburn Rovers in the season of 2012/13, Spending a brief spell back in England at QPR. Later returning back to Anzhi later that same year.

Samba moved to the Russian capital in 2013 as he transfer to Dynamo Moscow, spending 3 years at the club.

Christopher Samba's understanding of the English game would assist Fulham in their search for their rock in the defence.

Standing at 6'4, Samba is strong in the air and commanding the box and there is no denying that Fulham are in need of bolstering their defence after a nearly seeing the side relegated last season with the third worst defence in the league.

Would a move back to England suit Samba?

In this addition of A Cottagers Contemplation Scouting Report I am including a special segment. There has been split opinions from Fulham fans since the departure of Jamie O'Hara at the end of the season, With many Fulham fans wanting to see O'Hara back at the club.

Jamie O'Hara

29 years old

Central Midfielder

37 appearances | 1 goal | 3 assists

Jamie O'Hara is a passionate player that leaves everything he has to offer on the field.

The Midfielder supplied some much needed defensive contributions to a lacklustre defence last term.

Although off the field problems were brought to light, It is evident that he continues to give his all for the club.

Still only 29 years old, O'Hara has a few years left of service within him.

But what role could he play at the club? He would be a solid squad rotation player.

Do you believe the club could sign any of the mentioned free agents? Or do you have any other currently vacant players that you would like the club to sign?
