Fulham recently have been linked to two central midfielders from the Championship. The first is the Argentinian former QPR player Alejandro Faurlin. He has been on trial for a couple days and Jokanovic should be making his mind up soon as to whether or not he wants to sign him. The second is Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Kevin McDonald. According to sources, Fulham have had a bid of 1.5-2 million pounds accepted and a deal is expected to happen shortly.
Alejandro Faurlin
WhoScored Rating: 7.14
Primary Position: Central Defensive Midfielder
Alejandro Faurlin had been a staple of the midfield of QPR until his career was interrupted by injuries. He suffered three cruciate ligament injuries and was forced out for awhile. Despite this, he managed an impressive 7.14 WhoScored rating at the end of last season. He looks strongest in the center of midfield and prefers to be a deep lying player who breaks up play, but can also pick out a pass. He would most likely replace the recently departed Rohan Ince and provide a longer term replacement for Scott Parker.
Rating: 8.5/10
Kevin McDonald
WhoScored Rating: 6.98
Primary Position: Central Defensive Midfielder
Fulham have been linked to a second defensive midfielder, Kevin McDonald of Wolverhampton Wanderers. His name should sound familiar as he was targeted by the club last summer. This time, Wolves are ready to make a deal happen and McDonald wants to go. He is an excellent passer of the ball with a decent shot on him, but that is not his game. He likes to sit in front of the back, just like Faurlin, break up play and look to push the team up on the counter. He was runner-up in the player of the season voting two years ago, but has fallen out of favor with some of the fans due to his unrest over the failed transfer last summer.
Rating: 9/10
Both of these signings look like good deals and it would be great to have them for next season. They could offer quality competition for Parker, Christensen, and Tunnicliffe.
