League Cup third-round draw results: Fulham face Bristol City at home

Fulham squeaked past Middlesbrough needing almost all of extra time to complete their 2-1 victory. Bristol City was able to advance by defeating Scunthorpe 2-1 as well. The games are scheduled for the week of September 19th, so this means Fulham will face Bristol City at the Cottage in two consecutive games, as they are already scheduled to meet in the league on September 24th.

Normally I’m one to mostly throw away the League Cup, but the Fulham youngsters are playing well, and this is an imminently winnable fixture. Once you’re into round four, you’re just a couple of wins away from Wembley.

At this point, I’m excited to see how far these kids can go.
