Fulham today announced the extension of the contract of on loan forward Lucas Piazon via the club's website.

The young Brazilian, which is on loan at Craven Cottage from West London rivals Chelsea, signed a short-term contract with Fulham back in the summer.

However Piazon took to his personal Twitter page, as the 23-year-old hinted towards the proposed deal extension.

The Brazilian forward has managed to net 4 times for the The Cottagers over the duration of 17 games, whilst continuously providing tireless movement for the side’s possession style of play.

Piazon has expressed his frustration surrounding his future. Since joining Chelsea from Sao Paulo in 2011, Piazon has only mustered up just three appearances for the club, spending most of his time out on loan.

In his 6 years in Europe the Brazil Under-23 international has spent time on loan all across the continent, with spells at Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt and Reading before joining Fulham on transfer deadline day.

So what does the future have in store for Lucas Piazon?

He explained during a interview: "I hope I can do a good job at Fulham. It's a good club and a traditional club.”

"They have started the season well. Then I have to stay for more than one year at a club who can see me as their player and not a player from Chelsea who will one day go back to Chelsea.

"I'm tired of moving abroad. One, two, three loans, maybe that's enough. It's time for me to stay somewhere more than one year. When they know you'll stay whatever happens, people look at you with different eyes.

"If I had the chance to go for more than one season I'd do it."

So can this extension be seen as positive steps towards securing Piazon’s future at the club permanently?
