Fulham vs. Norwich Preview: Three Questions with Read Norwich

A new season kicks off against a familiar opponent. Can Fulham take advantage of their continuity against a Norwich team that had a ton of turnover?

Daniel Emery of Read Norwich was kind enough to answer our questions leading up to the first match of the season at Craven Cottage.

Cottagers Confidential: A new season is beginning, what do you think the biggest changes going into Norwich's season have been, both positive and negative?

Read Norwich: Well, everything has changed, virtually. We're likely to have 7 out of our 11 starting on Saturday making their debuts, along with a new head coach and backroom team. I think that's all positive. The only negative I can think of is letting go of players like Jonny Howson and Jacob Murphy. Saying that, we appear to have replaced Jonny with an excellent player in Mario Vrancic with £4m in change and Jacob wasn't sold on the cheap. The positives far outweigh the negatives, for sure.

CC: Where do you expect Norwich to finish this year? Who finishes in the top 6 and who gets relegated?

RN: Top six. I think the new way of playing and some of the signings we have made will give us that extra boost to push into the play-offs. Top six, in no order; Middlesbrough, Norwich, Fulham, Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa. Relegation; Barnsley, Bolton and Burton.

CC: Is this Norwich team complete or do you think there will be more changes in this window?

RN: Our Sporting Director Stuart Webber went on record today (Thursday) to say that there will be at least two more additions. We still need more CB and CM cover, although I can't see any big additions to our starting XI as it stands. That could change, though, if a big club comes in for one of our players, like Alex Pritchard, Timm Klose or Nelson Oliveira.

CC: Predicted lineup and score?

RN: Gunn; Wildschut, Godfrey, Zimmermann, Franke, Husband; Reed, Vrancic, Maddison; Watkins, Oliveira.

1-1.
