Just as there was hope for continuity in Claudio Ranieri’s lineup, André Schürrle pulled out of today’s game with a hamstring injury. Stefan Johansen comes in to possibly return Fulham into a 4-2-3-1 formation instead of the 4-4-1-1 system that it turned into at Craven Cottage. It is quite odd to not see even Luciano Vietto on the bench as there seems to be plenty of trust in the midfield options starting today. There are plenty of attacking options with Neeskens Kebano, Floyd Ayite and Aboubakar Kamara in the 18-man squad and Joe Bryan is on the bench for the second straight contest.
As for Chelsea, Pedro and Olivier Giroud come in to start in place of Alvaro Morata and Willian as Mauricio Sarri implements his side’s rotation. The latter two could come on some time in the second half and Ross Barkley isn’t even on the matchday squad which opens up the possibility that Cesc Fabregas and Ruben Loftus Cheek can come in as well. Even with a supposed weaker XI, Chelsea should still present one of the bigger challenges to Fulham all season.
